I am experimenting w/ starting an informal Chess "Group" within our Mustang team this year.
A few days a week, I am encouraging students to join me in my room to play chess as a way to relax and practice their critical thinking skills while having fun! So far, there has been quite a bit of interest and I look forward to seeing how this group moves forward.
I *must* emphasize, this is an INFORMAL group. NOT a club. NOT a team. It is non-competitive and open to students of ALL abilities. Participation is a privledge and can be revoked at my discretion for academic and/or behavioral reasons.
Chess will usually be held during 8th period one day a week AND 8th period - 3:30 another day. Any students staying after-school are responsible for their transportation home. PLEASE secure transportation BEFORE staying after!
Dates for chess will be posted on my board each week... check there or ask what is planned!
